Unfortunately remote work is becoming less of a thing and it seems we're all being sent back to the office, even if it's just part time. It can be a major shock to your routine, budget, and mental health. The way I handled it was I decided to think of it like back to school. We never wanted the summer to end but there was something fun about a new bookbag that made it a little easier to deal with. So here are my Return to Office essentials that can help lessen the blow. A Decent Laptop Bag
Whether you have one provided by your employer or not, sometimes getting one on your own is just better. I found an awesome backpack style one that has a side pocket that fits my Stanley water bottle and has tons of pockets. I absolutely love it and it's made the return to the office a little better for me.
Medicine Kit
I got a little travel kit with stickers for the types of medications and I filled it with things that I may need back in the office. Mine has pain relievers, gas and digestion aids, cough drops, and allergy pills. Don't forget band aids!
Water Bottle
Get an attractive and practical water bottle for yourself so you can make less trips to the water cooler (where you'll likely get forced to have awkward small talk with coworkers) and to ensure you stay hydrated.
Lunch Bag
Stick with your budget and pack your own lunch. Make it more fun to do so with a new lunch bag and food containers.
Headphones
I got a beautiful pair of headphones to cancel out the obnoxious office noise so I can better focus like I do at home. These can also signal to people that you don't want to be approached at your desk constantly for small talk.
A Phone Charger
Do not forget a phone charger so you can still scroll your phone on your breaks. Now that we settled into remote work, a lot of us tend to forget a charger when we do have to leave the house.
If you have to go back to the office in any capacity, I hope this lessens the blow for you like it has for me.
