I'm one of those people that does things long after they are a "thing".  If a movie is a huge hit - I wait to see it on DVD.   If everyone's freaking out about a new book, I wait months to read it.  I don't know why I'm like that but I just am.   So of course when everyone was freaking out about diffusers and essential oils - I waited.   But I just couldn't take it anymore so recently I have begun using essential oils and an ultrasonic diffuser.

Before I go any further let me explain what an ultrasonic diffuser is.  These diffusers create a fine mist of water and essential oils and they release it into the air.   It's kind of like a mini humidifier. They don't put out a super strong concentration of oils because they also use water.

So why do people use them?

Well here's the thing - essential oils do different things.  Some of them contain plant extracts and other ingredients that specifically help different parts of our body and mind.   There are lavender ones to help you relax, and there are even special blends that can help soothe a headache.   Plus, who doesn't want a pleasant smell in their home?   I sure do! Especially with 4 dogs, 2 humans, and a rat!

So far I have been loving my SPA210 Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Oil Diffuser from Guardian Technologies.   It even has touch controls!  It's super easy to use and it looks so pretty in my living room.  It's a functional piece of decor and it's very easy to fill the water compartment and to clean it from time to time.

I've noticed that there's a pleasant fragrance throughout my home now that I use a diffuser and I actually do believe the essential oils help.  Even the dogs seem more relaxed and not so high strung ever since I started using oils that promote relaxation.

Make sure you guys keep this in mind as a gift idea for the holidays!

And one of you is going to win one of your own! Good luck!

  1. Ha ha I do the same thing!! I wait for the movie on DVD, the book on Kindle, etc!! I love essential oils, though - I use an oil burner in my office and I have a couple in my home also. I haven't tried the diffuser yet though.....I've researched them and then never ordered one.

  3. I really like this PureGuardian diffuser. It works great in my bedroom. It is attractive with a nice shape. I love that it uses plain tap water, so no problems there. After filling with tap water, I used to put a few drops of lavender smell oil and press the button once and a thin stream of mist appears. and love it ..

  4. Hii
I like your new blog look. I have read that if you add the oil to a small amount of baking soda before adding to your spray bottle for air freshener, that it combines better. Have not tried it though.
    Keep sharing these valuable information!!!
