The Best Books for Self Help

Monday, May 11, 2020

I read a lot of books…I mean A LOT. While I already do a monthly post about what I’ve read, I wanted to do a post that really just includes several self help books that I love. Some are old and some are new.

The Energy of Money by Maria Nemeth

This book is really good and lets you look at your finances in a spiritual way. It really helped me come to term with how I view money in general and how my past has influenced my beliefs about money. This is a book that you can read all at once in a day or you can break into chapters as you work on yourself and your finances.

Find Your Glow, Feed Your Soul by Emily Silva

Okay not only is this book amazingly beautiful but it goes through a-z information about self-care like how to be more grateful on a daily basis and valuing and prioritizing your alone time. This is a great book to keep on your nightstand and read again and again to remind you how important YOU are and why self-care is SO crucial to use as human beings. Emily Silva did a wonderful job and even I learned some new ideas!

UnFu*k Yourself by Gary John Bishop

This is a badass book! It's basically for anyone that feels beat down by life, whether it's your job, your finances, your relationships, or even your health. Gary straight up tells you how to get out of your head and into your life. The book is like sitting down with one of your most blunt and honest friends and just getting schooled. There are seven assertions in the book and they are all very empowering (I personally love "I am relentless" and the way everything is written and explained it's easy to remember and to repeat to yourself throughout each day. You can read self help books all you want, but Gary is going to give it to you straight up no BS in this book. I love how motivated this left me feeling! It's like having a life coach at your fingertips. And every time you doubt yourself - PICK UP THE BOOK AGAIN! You're the one that's in control of how you life your life so get out there and live it!! This is a must read for every person out there!

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

One of my favorite books of all time, The Secret shows you how the power of positive thinking can manifest great things for you on even the smallest scale. Ever since I read this book, I’ve felt that my brain and soul were in a better place. I sometimes fall out of the habit of thinking things into being, but I have that knowledge in me, and when I’m in doubt, I read the book again.

The Alchemist by Paul Coelho

An amazing book full of wisdom and instilling in you how to listen to yourself and notice the signs that are all around you in life. This is a great uplifting and motivational book as well.

The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield

There are actually a few books in this series and Living the Celestine Prophecy is my favorite. Basically this book conveys in story form the 9 major insights into life and how it can be applied to everyone and ALL of life. It is truly a life changing book. If I could only recommend one book, this would be it.

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

This is really a great book for anyone working on themselves. There are four major life agreements we need to accept and come to terms with to live a peaceful life. This is also one of those books I recommend you read over and over again during different times throughout your life.

Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl

This is one of those timeless books written by a man who quite literally endured the worst treatment in his lifetime, surviving a Nazi camp. The author details many things about suffering and how we can come to terms with it and still find peace and meaning. Whatever scale your suffering is, this book will give you some great insight into navigating through it.
