Get Rid of Debt with Neon Funding

Sunday, May 24, 2020

Debt is one of the worst feelings ever because it makes you feel guilty when you spend money on something other than paying off your debt, it feels like a weight on your shoulders because you owe someone else money, and it makes you feel insecure about your finances as a whole. The thing is, you aren't alone.  Many people struggle with debt, but luckily for you, there's a few solutions. I was once in a lot of credit card debt and I felt like there was no way out.  That's not the case no matter how bad your situation is.  The hardest part is sitting down to face reality and tackle it.

Get Your Finances Organized

This means you need to sit down and figure out where your money has been going and how much you owe and to whom.  Then you need to do things like create a budget,  create a way to manage your cash flow, and figure out what order you'll pay your debts off in.  Now, when it comes to the budget, you need to make sure that your income is greater than your expenses and that may mean tweaking your monthly spending so you have more left over to put towards your debt.  You also need to keep track of your debt as you pay it off so you can celebrate and move on to the next one.

Track Your Money
You need to always watch every dollar that comes in and goes out which means saving your receipts, analyzing your bank statements, and checking your credit card bills to make sure there's no fraudulent activities. You can create spreadsheets on a computer to track everything, use finance apps, or even just use good old pen and paper.  Whatever works best for you is what you should stick to. This also works in your favor because it makes it easier for you when it comes to tax time and if you need return anything you purchased, it's easy for you to find the receipts or bill of sales.

Start Low
Start paying off your smallest debts first so you can get them out of the way and then use the money you were putting towards their minimum payments towards the next debt. Doing it this way helps you gain momentum as you go alone and makes you stay motivated.  You can list all of your debts and figure out which ones would be easiest and quickest to pay off and then work your way down the list.  Don't give up even if you struggle for a month or two.  Keep going because I promise you as you pay your debt off it'll feel better and better.
